According to the Israeli military, the radical Islamist Hamas handed over ten more Israelis who had been kidnapped in the Gaza Strip to the Red Cross on Wednesday. The group includes three dual citizens who have both a German and an Israeli passport, as well as one dual citizen each from the USA and the Netherlands. This was announced by Majid al-Ansari, spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, on Wednesday evening.

According to the Israeli army, two Russian hostages released by Hamas had previously arrived in Israel. Hamas emphasized that they were released due to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Hamas information, they were also handed over to representatives of the Red Cross. According to the Forum of Relatives of Hostages, the two women, aged 50 and 73, immigrated with their families from Russia and lived in Israel. They were kidnapped to the Gaza Strip during the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th. The release of the two women is not part of the agreement to exchange Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners. Hamas leader Moussa Abu Marsuk had previously told a radio station in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli hostages are to be released in return for the release of 30 other Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons. Hamas had already released a 25-year-old Israeli-Russian dual citizen on Sunday without apparent consideration. So far, Hamas has released 81 Israelis and foreigners in exchange for 180 Palestinian prisoners. According to Israeli information, more than 150 hostages are still being held in the Gaza Strip.
