The commitment of Christoph Lessacher and Philip Buck, who will inherit Eidke Wintersteller as coach of the relegated team in the summer, causes unrest among local rivals.
A week ago, Hallein coach Eidke Wintersteller had strengthened his back . Now everything is different with the relegated team: The experienced coach will be replaced in the summer. His successors have been determined: Christoph Lessacher, who left Golling’s trainer in the winter, will take over as head coach, Philip Buck will assist him. “We want a change and a breath of fresh air,” says Hallein’s deputy chairman Jurica Mustac.
Ex-coach causes unrest in Golling
The change of coach in Hallein also caused unrest in Golling. Because Lessacher wants to lure leading players from his former club to his future club with very well-paid contracts. Ranko Gigic’s move to Hallein was already certain before the duo Lessacher/Buck signed on.
The two Tennengau teams also meet in the lower play-off. This begins – like the upper play-off – only following a free Easter weekend. The match schedules will be drawn by the Salzburg Football Association on Monday. Like Saalfelden and Bischofshofen, the winner of the upper play-off secures a place in the ÖFB Cup.
Ten clubs can take a deep breath over Easter
In the lower play-off, on the other hand, the remaining eight games are all regarding the “golden pineapple”. Golling, Anif, SAK, Grödig and Hallein are relegated to the Salzburg league. Nevertheless, this quintet wants to say goodbye to the regional league. The Tennengau derbies in this group have become more explosive.
