(CNN) — Singer and “The Little Mermaid” star Halle Bailey welcomes a new baby to her world.
“Although we are only a few days into the New Year, the best thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son,” wrote Bailey on her Instagram account alongside a photo showing her newborn son’s hand with a gold bracelet with his name, “Halo,” engraved on it.
“Welcome to the world, my halo,” he wrote. “The world is eager to meet you.”
Bailey’s boyfriend, rapper DDG, public the same photo on his Instagram this Saturday, writing: “my biggest blessing by far” and that he had “never been so in love.”
The couple, who sentimentally linked Since 2022, they had not confirmed that they were expecting a baby, so this Saturday’s announcement came as a surprise.
Although she didn’t comment on the growth of her family, Bailey had already spoken about her blossoming relationship with DDG in a 2022 interview with British Vogue magazine in which he said that “experiencing deep love for the first time in my life is something that I think has opened up a whole new world for me creatively.”
“I like all the scary feelings that come with that. I like the suspense, not knowing what’s going to happen, and I feel like that’s what I’m supposed to experience in femininity,” she added.
This is the first child together for Bailey and DDG.
