Halkidiki: “We sent the child on vacation and they brought him back dead”, shocks the grandmother of the 8-year-old girl, what does his father say

The father of the 8-year-old girl who died in the camp pool is looking for answers about the wrongful death of his daughter.

As he himself told ALPHA, the camp has told them absolutely nothing about the incident: “I don’t know if there was supervision. They haven’t told us anything from the camp. I’m afraid that the child may have drowned while swimming with the other children and they didn’t realize it at the time, but much later,” he stressed.

Earlier today both the group leader and the leader of the camp were released, while the authorities are looking for the legal representative of the camp. Specifically, as part of the auto-foros, they are looking to locate and handcuff the legal representative of the camp, who is a resident of Athens and 72 years old.

In addition, the prosecutor has ordered g, i.e. in the area where the child was found unconscious. He wants to find out if the conditions for safety and child care are suitable, while he has ordered the same control in the camp as a whole, since if omissions are found, it may even be sealed.

What the camp officials said about the incident

The company’s full announcement:

“Today, Tuesday, August 13, after lunch had been finished and the campers were in their rooms for their lunch break, it was found that one camper was missing. The camp headquarters was immediately notified and a team of cadres began searching for her on the camp grounds.

The camper was found unconscious in the pool. The camper was given first aid with the method of cardiorespiratory resuscitation (CPR) and with the use of a defibrillator by the medical staff of the camp and the EMS which was immediately called to the site.

An ambulance transported the camper to the Kassandra Health Center and then to the Thessaloniki ACHEPA Hospital where she was pronounced dead. We would like to express our deep sorrow for the loss of our camper and will assist the authorities in every way to investigate the circumstances of the accident.”

“We sent the child on holiday and they brought him back dead”

It is heartbreaking what the grandmother of the 8-year-old girl said, who broke out for the unjust loss of her granddaughter: “We sent our child to enjoy his holidays with friends and they brought him back to us dead”, while a person from the same family added : “It is a very big responsibility to take care of children” reports thesstoday.gr

How the tragedy happened

According to competent sources, the absence of the girl was noticed when the responsible team leader started counting the children from the houses. Then, an alarm was raised throughout the camp and an operation was launched to locate the child. Unfortunately, however, a short time later he was found dead in the pool, with the circumstances for the exact causes being investigated.

The child was initially transported intubated to the Kassandrea Health Center, unconscious. From there, he was transferred to the AHEPA hospital in Thessaloniki, where he was pronounced dead.

What did the forensics show about the death of the 8-year-old
The findings “showed” that the child died of drowning, confirming initial reports that he was found alone in the camp’s swimming pool.

After the arrest of the group leader – who was released following a verbal order from the prosecutor – the 34-year-old “leader” of the camp was also arrested, who was also released a few hours later, while a case was filed against him for manslaughter.
