“The amusement park where the 19-year-old was killed had not received notification of operation”

The mayor of Kassandra, Anastasia Chalkia, spoke to Radio Thessaloniki and said that the amusement park was in a private area and this year it had not made a notification, that is, the procedure followed for the renewal of the license.

No operating license is given for the amusement parks by the municipality, said the mayor Kassandras and in the First Program 91.6 and 105.8. “He must have his machines certified and licensed by the Ministry of Development and make a notification to notifybusiness”, continued Ms. Chalkia, pointing out however that in this particular case this notification had not been made and the municipality had already proceeded with the procedure of imposing a fine fine.

“The Ministry of Development checks the certifications. This is where the machines get permits. How is the municipality to know if the machine is good or not, if it has the necessary specifications? They get ISO, Haccp certifications, there are some procedures. The municipality simply sees if the notification has been uploaded. This particular notification has not been uploaded, so we were in the process of monetary sanctions. It’s a 22-year municipal ordinance, which says exactly what responsibilities each municipality has,” he said characteristically. As soon as the fines come in, Mrs. Chalkia added, then the businessman will be summoned for an explanation and the premises will be sealed.
