The 58-year-old owner of the amusement park was arrested by the police, while a preliminary investigation is being conducted by the AT of Kassandreas and an expert opinion will be carried out, to ascertain the exact causes of the accident.

The operator is sought to be arrested as part of the drive, while the legality of the operation of the business and the machine is being investigated.

“We are at the amusement park and we sat in some seats. Our manager changed seats. Before the game started, he told us that he will go hard. At first slowly, then quickly. I feel the seat coming off, I tell my brother as well. At some point I feel like my whole back is coming off. In a fraction of a second I see that I am on my back, my brother is not next to me and I am unconsciously holding on to the iron.

My brother jumped out of the seat. It didn’t fly far but it hit me on the head. I was held back. All this happened in front of the eyes of my other brother and my mother. As soon as the seat broke, the operator disappeared. Others stopped the machine. I went down and saw my brother on the ground,” the 19-year-old’s brother said in a statement to ERT.

The president of the community of Pefkohori, Giorgos Tsirkoudis, told ERTNEWS that he does not know who is responsible for the amusement park. “The amusement park has existed for over 20 years. I have never been involved… I don’t know who is in charge.”
