New revelations are coming to light about the way in which the 58-year-old owner of the fatal amusement park in Pefkohori, Halkidiki operated, which claimed the life of a 19-year-old.
The owner of the amusement park in Halkidiki had spread his “nets” in Thessaloniki as well, bringing toys to the Christmas village of Thermaikos municipality as revealed by Thesstoday.gr.
According to what has become known, while the company signed a 60-day lease agreement with the municipality, it took a “hunt” with the police, local government and then a legal dispute with the municipality, until it finally left two and a half months later!
This is a case that started on December 15, 2021 when the municipality of Thermaikos signed a 60-day lease agreement to install an ice rink and amusement park machines on a municipal plot in Perea. In fact, although on paper the specific company was in his wife’s name, the 58-year-old seems to have been the one who took over its management and appeared as the person in charge in the municipality.
His electricity was cut off and he brought a generator
Despite the pressure exerted by the municipality, the business remained there even though the contract had expired. The municipality requested the assistance of the Greek Police for the removal of the amusement park, but this was episodic: On the one hand, the local government lowered the circuit breakers to cut off the electricity supply, and on the other hand, the 58-year-old raised them arbitrarily, continuing normally its operation. Even when representatives of the municipality brought in an electrician to cut the wires, the 58-year-old deployed his own generator on the plot to run the games!
The next move by the municipality of Thermaikos was to go to court to ensure the departure of the Luna Park from the plot. As can be seen from the minutes posted on the “Clarity” program, he appointed a bailiff to serve an administrative suspension on the company. At the same time, the authorities proceeded to certify a fine for occupying a common space of 2,500 euros and also for the arbitrary reconnection of electricity which, in fact, is expected to be heard next September.
