To stabilize shopping cart prices, CU is launching two types of sterilized milk with prices reduced to half that of NB milk through direct sourcing from overseas.

The sterilized milk presented by CU is a 1L bottle of regular milk and low-fat milk directly imported from Poland, with fat contents of 3.5% and 1.5%, respectively, and is made from raw milk produced at an animal welfare farm.

The selling price of both products is 2,100 won, which is up to 46% cheaper than NB white milk sold at CU.

The CU Global Trading Team said, “By conducting direct sourcing without going through import vendors, we were able to reduce purchase costs and introduce milk that maximized price competitiveness.”

After reviewing regarding 30 famous products produced in European countries with high production of sterilized milk, the CU Global Trading Team selected a product from ‘Mlekovita’, a milk manufacturer well known to domestic consumers for its cost-effective milk, and directly The product was launched through sourcing.

Won Hwi-yeon, head of the global trading team at BGF Retail, which operates CU, said, “To substantially help stabilize prices, we directly imported milk, a representative item in our customers’ shopping carts, from overseas,” adding, “We will reduce the purchasing burden on customers who shop at nearby CU stores.” “We will consider various ways to lower it,” he said.
