Donald Trump is preparing for a rematch for the White House with President Joe Biden in the November election. This is possible because his latest Republican rival, Nikki Haley, will reportedly step down following a crushing defeat in the “Super Tuesday” primaries, today.
Haley, 52, a former US ambassador to the United Nations under Trump, will postpone her campaign, it has been reported Wall Street Journal and CNN. He is scheduled to speak in Charleston, South Carolina, at 10:00 (1500 GMT), or Wednesday (6/3) at 23.00 WIB tonight.
So far, Trump has swept 14 of the 15 states up for grabs in the 2024 primaries (super Tuesday). Meanwhile, Haley only won in the northeastern state of Vermont.
Trump told cheering supporters at his Mar-a-Lago beach club in Florida that they had witnessed an extraordinary night and day. “They call it ‘Super Tuesday’ for a reason,” said the 77-year-old former president.
Meanwhile Biden as the incumbent also swept the Democratic Party’s “Super Tuesday” primaries. He will compete with Trump once more like in the 2020 election. (AFP/M-3)
