Haladás Futball Kft. is liquidated, its debt is 600 million

On Tuesday followingnoon, it was decided that Szombathelyi Haladás Futball Kft., which operated the Szombathelyi Haladás football team, will cease to exist – writes Nyugat.hu.

The paper reminds us that although Haladás VSE, which is appealing for the support of the local government, has started the training sessions, which is based on the team playing in the county’s first division, the local public opinion and the fans are concerned regarding whether the company will be responsible. bankruptcy, whether it is possible to hold the managers to account.

The paper knows that the company that operates the football team owes nearly HUF 600 million, among other things, to the players and employees. Ltd. its majority owner, almost 80 percent, through Haladás Marketing Kft., is entrepreneur Zsolt Homlok, who was previously the husband of Lőrinc Mészáros’ daughter.

The problems of Szombathelyi Haladás began when the entrepreneur’s business affairs did not develop as they had before following the divorce.

The lawyer interviewed by the newspaper said that mismanagement is not a criminal category in itself: if the company’s accounting was in order, and the liquidator sees it that way, there will be no criminal consequences for what happened. The majority owner cannot be held responsible, neither the local government with a roughly 10 percent ownership share, which helped the team with 40-50 million annually, nor the Illés Sport Foundation, which also owns around 10 percent.

A sports complex was previously built for the team for HUF 15.3 billion. It is not yet known whether the new Haladás, which starts in the county’s first division, will play its matches there.
