Hala Badri: “Al Quoz Arts” is a qualitative addition that enriches Dubai’s cultural and artistic scene

Hala Badri, Director General of the Culture and Arts Authority in Dubai, visited the “Al Quoz Arts Festival” in its tenth edition, which raised the slogan “Travel” and included regarding 200 activities, including more than 50 creative concepts hosted by “Al Quoz District” and “Al Serkal Avenue”. Presenting a variety of sensory experiences spread over three imaginary worlds: “journey to nature”, “journey to childhood” and “journey to the cyborg”, embodied through various installation works and various artistic activities.
During her tour, Badri moved between the collection of artworks presented by the festival over the course of two days, where she was briefed on the creations of emerging Emirati talents from Zayed University graduates within the exhibition (It’s a Sunny Day, Let’s Dance and Pray) organized by the university in cooperation with “Josa”. Space by Al Serkal”, and his works were distinguished by their strong harmony with the slogan of the tenth edition of the festival. Held under the auspices of Walter Williams, the exhibition featured a rich program of talks and diverse workshops aimed at helping audiences delve deeper into concepts related to nature, sustainability, and digital arts and culture.

Recreate history
The Director General of “Dubai Culture” also visited the “Laila Hiller” gallery, and saw in it the “Now and Forever” exhibition by the Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn, in which he presents his philosophy and his special view of everything we say and do in life, and its impact on changing the course of events. Throughout the exhibition (The Missing Witness) by artist Behrang Samadzadegan, in which he seeks to imagine and recreate history by drawing its mysterious aspects, in addition to the exhibition (My Name Is Chance) by artist Arash Nazari, who reviews through his works the state of contrast between classic miniature art and color tones in art Contemporary, to highlight the nature of changes that art has witnessed over time.
During her presence at the festival, Badri toured the series of exhibitions and various events hosted by the “Concrete” area in “Alserkal Avenue”, and followed the variety of innovative interactive experiences presented by the “Irregular” digital arts studio under the title (As Water Falls), and stopped at the artist’s work. Timo Nasseri (Sentinels I-IV) visited the Carbon 12 Gallery, which hosts the fifth solo exhibition of artist Gil Heitor Cortisau, entitled À REBOURS.

Quality addition
Hala Badri praised the quality of the work presented by the “Al Quoz Arts Festival” and stressed the importance of the support it provides to talent, as a qualitative addition that enriches the local cultural and artistic scene, which supports the commitments of “Dubai Culture” to create a sustainable creative environment capable of attracting creators from various fields. around the world.
It is noteworthy that this year’s edition of the “Al Quoz Arts Festival” also included a variety of artistic and musical works, including the “Mastaria Exhibition”, which displayed the creations of nine artists from Zimbabwe, while the “Green Art Gallery” presented a special exhibition for the Lebanese artist and sculptor Shawqi Shawkini, who is influenced by art. The festival also witnessed a mix of musical performances by singers Bou Kalthoum and Saint Levant, DJ and hip-hop artist Big Hass, Australian-born Australian rapper and poet Omar Musa, and others.
