CHAIRMAN of the Special Committee (Pansus) for the 2024 Hajj Inquiry, Nusron Wahid, ensured that he would work and focus on the substance of the issue of alleged abuse of authority in the implementation of the 2024 Hajj.

“We stick to the substance because the special committee of inquiry is looking into allegations of abuse of authority by the Ministry of Religion, and there are elements of violation of the law,” he said.

Nusron, who was contacted on Tuesday (20/8), explained that the special committee specifically focused on the issue of additional Hajj quota allocation.

“We focus there, so if there are violations in the process, we will be honest. Then we will look for the motive. This means that the special committee will not discriminate, exaggerate, or add anything. This is a constitutional right and looking for the common thread,” he explained.

Furthermore, Nusron explained that during this week the special committee will immediately ask for information from various parties related to the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage.

“Of course this is draining energy. But during this week we will call all the director generals. So we are targeting to finish everything before October, so there is about one and a half months,” he explained.

The certainty of the special committee to work on the track was also conveyed by a member of the hajj special committee, Luluk Nur Hamidah. According to her, the members of the special committee will control and strengthen each other.

“Hopefully not (catching a cold). Each other will control and strengthen each other, collectively and collegially,” he said. (P-5)
