Makkah: The Saudi Hajj and Umrah Ministry has implemented a comprehensive insurance scheme for foreign Hajj pilgrims this time. Officials informed that the insurance scheme implemented this time will ensure adequate compensation for all accidents, diseases, travel related problems etc. during Hajj.

Adequate compensation is available through the scheme in case of death or total disability due to accidents. In cases of accidental death, the insurance company will also bear the cost of bringing the dead body home if requested by the relatives. Losses due to flight departure from the country due to delay or cancellation are also covered by the insurance. Along with this, the quarantine and treatment expenses of those affected by the covid disease will also be covered under the scheme.

The ministry stated that the aim is to provide an opportunity for pilgrims to perform their worship with confidence and comfort. The insurance facility for Hajis has also been introduced as part of the Vision 2030 projects implemented under the leadership of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The insurance scheme is implemented by the Saudi Central Bank under the leadership of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

In a statement, the Ministry stated that the aim of the project is to make the pilgrims safe from the dangers that may befall them inside the country during the pilgrimage and to save them from the financial burdens due to it.

This will ensure that the accident victims get immediate treatment and their pilgrimage can be seen without interruption.
