Hajj Law violations: Violation of Hajj rules carries heavy fines and imprisonment for up to six months

Riyadh: Failure to comply with various conditions related to the Pilgrimage (Pilgrimage) carries a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh and imprisonment for up to six months. Foreigners will be deported following these punishments. The Saudi Ministry of Interior has released details of a revision of the existing penalties for violating the Hajj law.

Those who enter the pilgrimage sites of Mina, Musdalifah and Arafa without permission will be fined around three lakh rupees (15,000 riyals). Unauthorized entry into Makkah, Masjid al-Haram, other holy sites and two Haramin train stations in Rusaifa is punishable by a fine of Rs 2 lakh (10,000 riyals). If the offense is repeated, the fines will be doubled. The third sentence carries a maximum sentence of one to six months in prison.

Those who take pilgrims without a Hajj permit to the shrine will be fined up to Rs 10 lakh (50,000 riyals). The fine will increase according to the number of people in the vehicle. They face up to six months in prison or both. Foreigners committing these crimes will be deported to Saudi Arabia with a re-entry ban.
