Makkah | The second ‘Hajj Expo 2023’ organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has started in Jeddah. Representatives from more than fifty-six countries are participating in this year’s expo and various conferences.
Hajj Expo 2023 was inaugurated by Prince Khalid Al Faisal, Makkah Governor and Adviser to Saudi Ruler and Custodian of the Holy Mosques King Salman.
The expo is being organized as part of a review of faultless service and solutions while developing modern systems to provide better service to pilgrims who visit the holy land as guests of Allah.
The aim of Hajj Expo is to ensure greater participation among countries of the world and create more initiatives and opportunities. This year’s expo comprises ten main sections, 13 dialogue sections and 36 workshops.
Hajj and Umrah services conference-exhibition, digital services, facilities for pilgrims from arrival to departure from the holy land, electronic procedures as part of Makkah Road project in facilitating Hajj procedures, will also be reviewed at the expo.
As part of Saudi Vision 2030, the expo will be attended by international researchers, ambassadors and consuls of various countries, as well as ministers and experts.
At present, there are five countries including Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco and Bangladesh in the Makkah Road project where Hajj pilgrims from foreign countries complete the Saudi emigration procedures from their own airports. The main feature of the plan is that the pilgrims from the countries that are members of the project can reach their accommodation directly from the airport without waiting at immigration.
In the first Hajj Expo held in 2021, 115 agreements were signed with various countries and 45,000 people visited the expo.
This year’s expo is being organized at the Jeddah Superdome. The expo will end on January 12.
