Haitham Al Qasimi inaugurates Sharjah Heritage Days in Kalba

Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba, opened the activities of the “Sharjah Heritage Days” in its 19th session, in the presence of Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, and Dr. Suleiman Sarhan Al Zaabi, President of the Municipal Council of Kalba City, and a group of officials and the public.

Ahmed Mohammed Al-Dah, coordinator of the openings of the Sharjah Heritage Days in the Eastern Province, said: “The heritage activities in the heritage village in the city of Kalba will continue until March 25, and the public will be able to enjoy a variety of heritage arts and folklore, including performances, chants, folk and folk dances, traditional crafts and competitions. And interesting games for children, and experience Emirati dishes through the corners and pavilions participating in the festival, as well as spacious spaces for other popular exhibits and rare heritage collectibles, in addition to the opportunity to learn regarding the vocabulary and components of the four Emirati environments: marine, agricultural, mountain and coastal, and various heritage sites.

This year’s festival has a variety of participations from various government departments and institutions, under the roof of the heritage village in Kalba.

18 government departments participate in various activities and programs, while 20 productive families participate in their own corners, in addition to the participation of 3 museums for citizens, and the public will be on a date throughout the days with discussion sessions on the arts of culture, heritage and thought in the cultural café.
