According to foreign media such as AFP and BBC on the 31st (local time), a storm accompanied by hail occurred in Girona, Catalonia, Spain around 7:30 pm on the 30th. The local weather service said it was the largest hailstorm since 2002.

Catalan President Pere Aragons described the incident as a “tragic” and expressed his condolences. City councilor Kame Bal described the incident as a “ten minutes of horror,” and the local meteorological agency said, “Hail storms usually occur most often between March and September. “This summer has been unusually hot, so we expect more intense tropical storms in the future.”
