Haas F1 Team Representative “Ferrari’s F1 engine reliability is a concern”[F1-Gate .com]

Guenther Steiner, Haas F1 Team Representative, admits that it was a concern for the team to see Carlos Sainz Jr.’s Ferrari F1 engine fail at the F1 Australian Grand Prix.

Carlos Sainz Jr. ran third on the Red Bull Ring and smoked from the back of the F1-75 on lap 56, when he was looking to take second from Max Verstappen.

Carlos Sainz Jr. was forced to leave the truck, where his car began to ignite. Meanwhile, his teammate Charles Leclerc won.

Elsewhere, Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen finished 6th and 8th, respectively. Haas F1 Team equipped with Ferrari F1 engine achieved double point finish for two consecutive races.

But Guenther Steiner does not deny that he was a little worried regarding seeing what happened to Carlos Sainz Jr.

When asked in an F1 Nation podcast if he was worried when Carlos Sainz Jr.’s Ferrari F1 engine broke down, Guenther Steiner said, “No, I didn’t worry at all … it’s a joke!” Said.

However, it is the speed of the engine that eases Gutan-Steiner’s anxiety. Despite concerns regarding reliability, Ferrari’s F1 power unit still considers the speed to be a powerful advantage.

“Obviously it’s not good to see what happened to Sainz. There were some problems this year,” continued Guenther Steiner.

“But, as I always say, the engines are very good and very powerful. On the other hand, there are problems. Obviously, I don’t like them, but compare them to last year’s engines. “

“I know I can fight, at least when I start the race. Of course, if there’s a problem, that’s very disappointing, but the engine is very powerful.”

“I am confident that Ferrari will work hard to increase credibility.”
