Haas F1 representative denies rumors that he has already signed a contract with Nico Hulkenberg[F1-Gate.com]

Haas F1 team principal Gunther Steiner has denied that he has already signed a contract to race experienced German driver Nico Hulkenberg for 2023.

Mick Schumacher, who is rumored to have lost his seat, said in Singapore of the status of negotiations with the Haas F1 team, “If there is something to announce, of course we will announce it.”

Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner agrees that the shortlist for 2023 is still valid.

“Our list includes drivers with super licenses and we are considering all of them,” Steiner told Sky Deutschland.

“Nico is one of them. But Mick is on the list because otherwise you’ve already made the decision. We’ll still see what the best decision is for the team going forward. There is a need”

Gunther Steiner claims there is no ‘deadline’ to finalize the deliberations between him and team owner Gene Haas.

“There’s nothing new there,” Mick Schumacher told Bild am Sonntag when asked if the Haas F1 team remained first contact.

Asked if the ongoing uncertainty was causing anxiety at Haas F1 Team, Schumacher said: “No. It doesn’t distract us.”

“I think the team knows what I can do and where I want to go. We have all the data, so the facts are on the table.”

“Pressure has always been a part of my life and sporting career. I want to take that pressure and turn it into extra motivation and drive.”
