The reigning champions Real Madrid and the English club Manchester City won the first match of the UEFA Champions League. City beat Sevilla 4-0 and Real beat Celtic 3-0.
Norwegian player Erling Haaland’s double goal is the victory of City. Haaland scored City’s first goal in the 20th minute of the match. De Bruyne also paved the way for the goal. Midfielder Phil Foden extended City’s lead in the 58th minute. The goal was assisted by Joao Cancelo. Holland’s second goal in the 67th minute. City’s fourth goal through Portuguese player Ruben Diaz in injury time. This time too it was Cancelo who paved the way for the goal.
In the Real-Celtic match, all three goals were scored in the second half of the match. Vinicius Junior (56th minute), Luka Modric (60) and Eden Hazard (77) scored for Real.
In other matches, Benfica beat Haifa 2-0 and Shakhtar Donetsk beat Leipzig 4-1. Salzburg held AC Milan to a 1-1 draw.
