Haaland and his response about the awards he lost to Messi: “He is the best”

This Tuesday, March 5, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland attended the press conference prior to the Champions League round of 16 match between Manchester City and Copenhagen.
Among other issues, such as his mental health and the pressure he has on being the main scorer on his team, Haaland spoke about Lionel Messi.
The Norwegian had to answer a question in relation to the Rosario player, since he won the last Ballon d’Or and The Best of Fifa award in 2023, individual distinctions in which Haaland was also one of the favorites.
The 23-year-old forward was asked if Messi should retire so that he could win some such award and his response surprised everyone by saying that the Argentine was “the best.”

During the past campaign, the Nordic player had a dream season by breaking scoring records and also by winning a treble with Manchester City under the technical direction of Pep Guardiola.
