LONDON, 17th May, 2020 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met David Lamy, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the British shadow government and a member of the British Parliament.
During the meeting, which was held in London, they discussed the strategic relations between the two countries and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in all sectors.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the situation in the region and regional and international developments.
The talks dealt with a number of files of common interest, including joint cooperation in the energy file and combating climate change.
They reviewed ways to enhance global climate action, especially with the UAE hosting the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) this year in Dubai Expo City.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the depth of the strategic relations between the UAE and the United Kingdom, pointing out that the commitment of the two friendly countries to their partnership for the future contributes to achieving sustainable prosperity and comprehensive development for their peoples.
The meeting was attended by Mansour Abdullah Khalfan Belhoul, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
