Chusovitina, a 47-year-old gymnastics legend from Uzbekistan, said recently that she has made up her mind to prepare for the Paris Olympics.

She has previously said that she hopes to win a medal for Uzbekistan at the Hangzhou Asian Games before the end of her career. The Olympic Council of Asia announced on the 6th of this month that the Hangzhou Asian Games will be postponed, and the new date will be announced following consultation by all parties concerned. According to the latest news on the official website of the Uzbekistan Olympic Committee, Chusovitina has decided to continue preparing for the Paris Olympics following the Asian Games. Two years later, when the Paris Olympics take place, Chusovitina will be 49 years old.

From competing as a CIS athlete in 1992, to representing Uzbekistan, and then changing to German nationality because of his son’s treatment, the phrase “you are not cured, I dare not grow old” touched countless people, and finally regained Uzbekistan nationality. The story of Chusovitina’s Eighth Olympic Games is legendary.

After the Tokyo Olympics last year, Chusovitina briefly “retired”. After returning to the field, she won two golds and one silver in three International Gymnastics Federation World Cup competitions this year. Last weekend, Chusovitina just won the Uzbekistan National Championships women’s vaulting championship.
