Gyanwapi case to be heard by Supreme Court tomorrow; Video Survey Report Submitted | Gyanvapi Mosque

The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the hearing in a case related to the Varanasi-Gyanwapi mosque. Until then, the Supreme Court will stay proceedings in the Varanasi court in connection with the case. Meanwhile, the video survey report was submitted to the Varanasi court this morning. Court-appointed commissioner Vishal Singh said the reports were submitted in a sealed envelope.

The lawyer who was present during the video recording claimed that the Shiva lingam was found in the pool of the church. The Supreme Court had ordered that the place where the Shiva lingam is said to have been found should be protected but the prayers of the believers should not be interrupted. The evidence was taken by Advocate Commissioner Ajay Pratap Singh.

Ajay Pratap said that the court had given them a big responsibility. The survey was conducted honestly. All party representatives, complainants and church officials were present at the survey. Therefore, there is no need to raise questions, he said.

Five Hindu women have filed a petition seeking permission to worship at the Sringar Gauri temple, which is attached to the west wall of the Gyanwapi mosque. A Varanasi court has ordered the sealing of a Shiva lingam and a halt to trafficking following a court-ordered survey.
