Hardly any legal dispute has received as much attention online this year as that of US actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who went to trial in March over a skiing accident. Now the dramatic process is becoming at least as dramatic a musical, which is scheduled to premiere in London in December, as the “Guardian” writes today.

“Gwyneth Goes Skiing” will premiere at London’s Pleasance Theater and features songs by American singer-songwriter Leland, who has worked with Selena Gomez, among others, and writes the music for the television series “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
Absurd process resulted in numerous memes
In the trial, retired ophthalmologist Terry Sanderson accused the actress of injuring him in a collision at the Deer Valley ski resort in Utah. He sued Paltrow for the equivalent of around three million euros and claimed that she had caused him a traumatic brain injury and several broken ribs.
Paltrow’s lawyers sued and accused Sanderson of hurting the actress. The trial caused countless posts, memes (picture jokes) and overall a lot of frowning: Sanderson claimed, for example, that he might no longer enjoy wine tastings due to his injury, and he also feared for his future on dating apps because the legal dispute might have a negative impact on him .
When asked how Paltrow suffered from the accident, the actress replied coolly: “Well, we lost half a day on the slopes.”
Premieres December 13th
The final sentence of the trial, which Paltrow ultimately won, also became legendary: “I wish you well” – and will probably also appear in the musical. “On the slopes of Deer Valley, their worlds collided, and so did she – literally. Ouch. Seven years later, in 2023, they went to court. Double ouch,” says the preview from the London theater. The premiere is on December 13th.
