Gwangju FC lost 1-2 in the away match between Bucheon and Hana One Q K League 2 2022 Round 36 held at the Bucheon Sports Complex on the 30th.

With this defeat, Gwangju stopped their 11 game unbeaten streak (6 wins, 5 draws) following a 0-0 draw in the 24th round once morest Gimpo FC on July 2nd, and stood still at 69 points (20 wins, 9 draws, 4 losses). However, they are 10 points ahead of second-placed FC Anyang (59 points).

Gwangju led the game by increasing their possession of the ball in the first half, but as they might not create any scoring chances, they removed Heo-yul in the first 15 minutes and put in Lee Kun-hee early.

After the substitution, Gwangju’s attack became more active. Sandro attempted a series of sharp right-footed shots in the 21st and 27th minutes of the first half, and in the 37th minute of the first half, he aimed at the goal of Bucheon with a header, but was unable to score.

Gwangju took the lead in the 44th minute. Gwangju goalkeeper Kim Kyung-min did not properly handle the ball headed by Oh Jae-hyeok from Bucheon, and Bucheon Lee Si-heon rushed into the Gwangju goal net with a sliding shot.

At the start of the second half, Gwangju changed the defense by replacing Kim Hyun-hoon with Aaron. Gwangju’s substitutions paid off. In the 7th minute of the second half, Hayes scored a header equalizing by Park Han-bin’s cross from the right. It was Hayes’ 12th goal of the season.

However, Gwangju conceded a header to Siheon Lee in the 23rd minute of the second half. Gwangju then launched an all-out offensive and aimed for an equalizer, but in the end, they were unable to open the Bucheon goal and lowered their head.

After the match, Gwangju coach Lee Jeong-hyo said, “It was a difficult away game. The players conceded goals, but we ran to the end to equalize. Although we lost, it will be a great help in preparing for the next game.” I will work hard to prepare.”
