The actress cannot, however, say too much regarding what awaits Caro. “I will be able to be seen in half of the episodes to come. As before, Caro, she comes and she goes… She will be where you least expect her. It thus retains its role as the “surprise box” of the Paré family. One thing is certain, it will be a lot of fun to play!” The artist is also eager to see the new looks that the characters of The little life. “I haven’t seen anything yet, but I think we won’t be disappointed.”

ON STAGE IN SONGS

After giving nearly forty performances of his show I don’t know how, I don’t know why, in which she embraces the texts and music of Yvon Deschamps, Guylaine announces that she will be back soon with this beautiful project that is close to her heart. “Last May, during my premiere at the Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts, Yvon Deschamps came to see the show. It was a great moment that I will never forget. His songs have accompanied me throughout my life, since I was very young. I find that they make up the most sensitive and vulnerable part of his work. It was a dream for me to perform them on stage.”

A dream that the actress will pursue from October. “I’m going on tour for regarding twenty performances all over Quebec. I love being on stage with musicians and meeting the public. I would like to specify that, in this show, I am not repeating the monologues of Yvon Deschamps. I rather recount moments of my life, which are illuminated by regarding fifteen songs by Yvon.

A MAJOR CHALLENGE

On the theater side, Guylaine will resume in August the play Lesétés underground, written by the author and actor Steve Gagnon. “It is a pleasure for me to be able to redo this piece, which I played at La Licorne during the pandemic in front of only 50 people. I can’t wait to finally be able to play it in front of full houses. In this wonderful piece, I play the role of a professor of verbomotor literature. It is regarding a free and feminist woman who spends her summers in Provence, where she has friends. In another part, we will see her suffering from a degenerative disease which will gradually evolve towards a loss of autonomy. It is a piece that touches, stirs and in which we laugh a lot.

The actress does not hide that The Underground Summers represents a major challenge for an actress. “It’s really solid as a show! That’s regarding 140 pages of text to memorize. There are no lines, and I’m alone on stage the whole time. I also intend to get back to learning my text in the spring. Note that the play will be presented from August 22 to September 2 at the Théâtre de la Bordée, in Quebec City, and from September 5 to 23 at La Licorne, in Montreal.

After having played in the series Anna and Arnaud, broadcast last fall on TVA, Guylaine Tremblay specifies that she does not have any new proposals on the table for television. “Currently, there is nothing else to come apart from La petite vie. If another great TV project comes up, we’ll see. In the meantime, the actress in me remains active on stage.
