Lara Gut-Behrami failed to finish fifth in the second descent of Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Ticino was knocked off the podium by Ragnhild Mowinckel, who set the best time with bib 20 following a very long interruption due to strong gusts of wind. Jacqueline Wiles then created a sensation by finishing 2nd with bib 26.
Second the day before, Lara Gut-Behrami paid dearly for a missed Delta crossing. A jump that was too steep then took him out of the ideal line, costing him precious hundredths of a second.
