Gunshots in the center of Brussels, near Place De Brouckère: what we know

The author(s) is/are still actively sought. The police services were informed on Saturday around 8:20 p.m. via the emergency number 100 of shots fired in the center of the capital, near Place De Brouckère. A man was hit by six bullets in the back and in the posterior.

“The victim was taken to the hospital where she was immediately operated on. According to the latest news around 11 a.m., her life was still in danger,” said a spokesperson for the prosecution.

The circumstances of the shooting are still unclear at this point. An investigating judge has been appointed as part of an investigation into attempted murder. A ballistics expert, a medical examiner and the federal police lab went to the scene.
