Two people died Monday evening in Brussels following gunshots that occurred not far from Place Sainctelette, police said, confirming information given by several media.

According to the first known elements, the shots were fired around 7:15 p.m. near Place Sainctelette, Boulevard d’Ypres and Boulevard du Ninième de ligne. The emergency services arrived in large numbers on the scene. No suspect has yet been arrested.

In images taken by a local resident, we can see a man with a fluorescent orange jacket and a white helmet, a weapon in his hand, getting on a scooter and fleeing. He allegedly previously shot someone in a lobby before shooting two people in a taxi.

The Brussels public prosecutor’s office confirms to us that the possible perpetrator(s) are still being sought.
