According to earwitnesses, massive exchanges of fire could be heard in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Saturday morning, including near the military headquarters. In addition, according to further reports, military vehicles drove up on the streets. Shots were also reported from the northern Sudanese town of Merowe. The first reports do not yet indicate whether there have already been dead or injured – nor what exactly triggered the clashes.
