Gulya Koroleva Gulya Koroleva was a real role model: a lively, fearless, cheerful girl, devoted to her homeland and herself. She loved life, strengthened her character, acted in films and conquered new heights all the time. When the war began, Gulya went to the front. The war lasted a year and a half for her, but even in such a short period of time she was able to accomplish a feat.

Gulya Koroleva’s real name is Marionella Vladimirovna Koroleva. She was born in Moscow into the family of a director and an employee of the Goskino film factory – the choice of an acting career was not surprising. By the way, it was her mother who brought her to the cinema. When Gula was only three years old, Zoya Mikhailovna took her daughter to audition for the film “Kashtanka”. Since then, Guli’s acting career began: she starred in many films, and for the film “The Partisan’s Daughter” she even had to learn to ride a horse. For her excellent work, Gulya received a ticket to everyone’s favorite pioneer camp, Artek.

When Gula was 10 years old, her parents divorced. The girl bravely endured this story: she continued to smile no matter what, without shedding a single tear (at least in front of everyone). Gulya kept in touch with her father and even became friends with his new wife.

After school, contrary to everyone’s expectations, Gulya entered the irrigation and drainage institute, and not the theater institute.

Personal life

Little is known regarding Gulya’s personal life: only that she was married twice, and had a son from her second husband.

Beginning of the war

Almost immediately following giving birth, Gulya left to fight. There she was appointed a medical instructor. Her unit was sent to Stalingrad, where it took part in one of the turning points of that terrible war.

From Gulya’s letters to her father, it seemed as if she perceived everything that was happening as something ordinary: she held on steadfastly, like a fighter. But even the fighters cry – in one of the letters, the girl admitted that she might not hold back her tears when they brought in a six-month-old baby whose mother was killed. It is likely that at that moment she was remembering her son, because she didn’t even really have time to get to know him.

During the terrible battles of Stalingrad, Gulya raised the morale of the soldiers with acting performances in the hospital.

What feat did Gulya accomplish?

1942 For several days our soldiers fought for the fourth height 56.8. On November 23, Gulya was able to drag away regarding 50 wounded. And following the death of the commander, the girl took on these responsibilities and led the soldiers. She was the first to break into the enemies, killed 15 German soldiers and fought to the last despite the fact that she was wounded. Then the Soviet soldiers managed to secure the conquered territory.

They mightn’t save Gulya. The next day the girl died. She was awarded the Order of the Red Banner posthumously. Today there is a memorial at the site of Queen’s death.
