UAE has announced that new generation passports will be issued from September. The new generation passports are being distributed as part of the new generation national ID card projects that started in 2021. It has been announced that it will be distributed from September 1.
The new version of the Emirati passport also has security features to curb fake movements. This was informed by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security. This technological shift is in line with the country’s proposals to consolidate its drive towards smart government.
The new move will strengthen the ease of doing business and improve the quality of life for individuals in various institutions in the UAE. The project also aims to provide a travel experience that reinforces the UAE’s leading position.
