“Gulf Golf” kicks off from Abu Dhabi on Monday

The official opening ceremony of the 24th Gulf Championship for men and the 13th for youth under 18 will kick off at 5:30 pm under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Golf Federation, and many senior officials About sports and the game locally and in the Gulf.

The championship competitions will be held at half past seven in the morning, Monday, and will continue until Thursday, March 17, on the 18-hole courses of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club in the capital, Abu Dhabi, with the participation of more than 40 players representing the elite in the men and youth categories in the Arab Gulf countries.

The men’s team consisting of the players Saeed Malik, Ahmed Skaik and Rashid Al Emadi, and the youth team consisting of Muhammad Skaik, Rashid Al Jasmi and Abdullah Al Suwaidi have completed their intensive daily training and our players are ready for this Gulf event.

The tournament’s organizing committee, headed by Major General “M” Abdullah Al-Sayed Al-Hashemi, Vice President of the Golf Federation, had invited the country’s sports leaders, officials in sports councils in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and heads of sports federations, bodies and institutions to attend the opening and follow up on its exciting activities. All delegations arrived and conducted a number of training sessions on the championship field before the official opening, to acclimatize to the competition grounds and enter early in the atmosphere of the championship.
The official opening ceremony of the tournament will be preceded at 1 pm tomorrow, Sunday, by the technical meeting in the presence of members of the technical committee and the administrative and technical bodies of the participating teams, in addition to the referees, during which the eligibility of the players will be approved according to the agreed terms, and the tournament system and its technical regulations will be presented, in addition to conducting a lottery to distribute players to groups. Each group consists of 4 players from different countries in the first day’s competitions, and the men’s matches schedule includes 4 days, while the youth teams play 3 days to determine the champions of the tournament at the team and individual level.
