US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken has emphasized that in Riyadh on Monday Iran in response to Gulf There is a need to coordinate defense systems between countries.
Blankenship is making his seventh visit to the Middle East since the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel. This is Blanken’s first visit to the region since the tensions between Israel and Iran.
According to the French news agency AFP in Riyadh Gulf Cooperation Council Addressing a cabinet meeting, Blanken said, “The attack on Israel indicates a growing and serious threat from Iran, but there is also a need for us to work together on a coordinated defense.”
Blanken said the U.S. will hold talks with the six-state bloc in the coming weeks on coordinating air and missile defense and boosting maritime security.
The U.S. already has strong military ties with all of the Gulf Arab states, but relations between the six countries have seen a downturn.

Blanken said the region has a choice of decisions about its future, one of which is ‘division, destruction, violence and permanent instability’.
He said the Gulf Arabs, along with the US, were opting for ‘greater integration’ and ‘greater peace’.
Blanken told Gulf Arab states he would press for greater humanitarian access to the Palestinian state and Gaza.
Blanken said the most effective way to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, alleviate suffering and create room for a more just and sustainable solution is a ceasefire and the return of prisoners.
Blankenship is expected to meet Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday.
