Police of Thana Sadar Gujranwala have registered cases on allegations of rape and harassment of five girls of Government Non-Formal Education School located in Thedi Sansi area.
Under the Provincial Literacy Department, a woman named Sajida Imran runs a school in her home, in which female students are educated up to the fifth standard.
According to the details recorded in the FIR, the accused has raped various girls for the past several years. The ages of the affected girls are said to be between 11 and 14 years.
City Police Officer (CPO) Ayaz Saleem said that the rape of three girls has been confirmed while the rape of two was attempted.
He said that cases have been registered on the request of the parents under other provisions including rape.
The main accused was arrested and nude photos and videos were recovered from his mobile phone. All the evidence has been collected and sent to the laboratory for further processing. After investigating the merits of the case, the accused will be punished.
In this regard, investigating officer Mohammad Shafiq said that Imran, the husband of the school teacher, has been arrested after registering five cases on the request of the parents of the affected girls. The accused also confessed to the crime.
‘In the medical examination of five girls, rape of two girls has been proved, while in the investigation it was found that videos were made by stripping three girls naked.’
The police also sealed the school while investigations are going on with regard to more affected girls.
The father of one of the affected girls said, ‘My 13-year-old daughter was admitted to this school six months ago. Yesterday, the girl refused to go to school. When I asked the reason, she cried and said that our teacher’s husband, Imran, who runs the canteen in the school, has raped me three or four times and continues to harass me. ‘
The victim’s father said that the daughter told that he abused not only her but also other girls. Classes are built on the upper floor of the school while their accommodation is on the lower floor.
