Defending champions Gujarat Titans became the first team to reach the playoffs in the 16th season of IPL. Gujarat reached the playoffs following winning the match once morest Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hyderabad might not beat the target of 189 runs set by Gujarat. With this, following Delhi Capitals, Hyderabad also got eliminated without seeing the playoffs.

Gujarat opener Shubman Gill brought out a performance questioning Hyderabad’s decision to field first following winning the toss. Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Wridhan Saha on the 3rd ball of the innings to give Hyderabad the upper hand. Sai Sudarshan and Gill, who came to the crease at third, took responsibility and swung the bat, Gujarat’s score soared. Both of them put together a partnership of 147 runs.
