Guinea: the import of motorcycle tricycles is prohibited until further notice

In a joint communiqué signed by the Minister of Transport, Félix Lamah and that du commerce, Loupou Lamah, the Guinean authorities have banned the import of motorcycle tricycles for transport use until further notice. The announcement was made this Thursday, March 2, 2023 on national television.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and SMEs and the Ministry of Transport inform all populations of the ban until further notice on the import of motorcycle tricycles for use in public transport in the Republic of Guinea. This in accordance with the joint decree AC/2021/ 743/ MCIPNT/ CAB/ SGG of March 2, 2023.

In this regard, the general management of the descriptive import declaration service and the descriptive export declaration service, the general customs management, the national land transport management and the central management of the border police will each be responsible for concerns the strict application of this regulatory measure.

Anyone violating this measure is liable to the payment of fines which is without prejudice to the criminal proceedings that may result.

The ministers in charge of trade and transport know how to count on the good understanding of the population and of all the players involved.
