Guinea: religious urge the Forces vives to join the framework of inclusive dialogue

In a statement released on the evening of Tuesday, May 9, 2023, religious leaders urge the Forces vives de Guinée (FVG) to join the inter-Guinean dialogue framework for “social tranquility”.

The Archbishop of Conakry, Monsignor Vincent Coulibaly and the Imam of the Fayçal mosque recall that certain points of claims of these socio-political actors were satisfied on Monday May 8, 2023.

It is :

1- The lifting of judicial controls once morest members of the Forces vives de Guinée;

2- Making Foniké Mangué and company available to religious.

Moreover, these religious leaders welcome these measures mentioned above, “in favor of the stability of the country”. They encourage “the Government to continue its policy of reaching out”.

“We urge the Forces Vives to agree to join the framework of inclusive dialogue in order to continue the search for solutions for peace and harmony”.

Finally, they reiterate their appeals to all political and social actors to continue to give priority to the preservation of peace, and undertake to continue the mediation effort. The population is asked to remain calm.
