Guinea: New biometric permit issues start from Monday, February 27, 2023 (Ministry)

In a press release read on national television this Thursday, February 23, 2023, the Ministry of Transport informs all citizens that the new driver’s license issues will start from Monday, February 27, 2023 and will end on June 30, 2023. The department invites the citizens concerned to follow the procedures put in place. He also invites them not to wait until the last minutes to comply with this measure.

As part of the management project for the computerized biometric driving license management system in Guinea, the Ministry of Transport informs all citizens that the new issues will start from Monday, February 27, 2023. To do so, the Ministry of Transport through the National Land Transport Directorate has taken a series of measures for the smooth running of operations. On this happy occasion, the Ministry of Transport invites all citizens to follow the procedures put in place which are:

_ Enrollment in a driving school approved by the national direction of land transport to follow practical and theoretical training and highway code;

_ The passage to the national direction of land transport or in one of the seven regional offices of land transport to pass the theoretical and practical exams;

_ The delivery in a center of the technical partner Thomas Greg West Africa of the new driving license after the medical examination.
This measure also concerns drivers of two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicles for which license categories A and A1 are compulsory according to the regulations in force.

The Ministry of Transport also takes this opportunity to recall that since the start in Guinea of ​​the computerized biometric driving license management system project in August 2021, the old red section licenses are no longer issued by these competent services. Any issue or fraudulent possession of this old permit will be punished in accordance with the laws in force in Guinea.

Finally, the Ministry of Transport specifies that these new issues have no impact on the postponement of the deadline for the renewal of old permits authenticated and set by the government on June 30, 2023.
