The Ordinary Council of Ministers was held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Mohamed V Palace. On this occasion, the president of the transition questioned the members of the government on the use of taxpayers’ money through the events that they organize.

In his report, the government spokesperson reported that President Mamadi Doumbouya “deplored the frequency of parties and events which mobilize members of the government and the Prime Minister.”

According to Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, there are a lot of events, either seminars or international meetings that ministers organize and arrange for other ministers. Something that the colonel denounces. This is why the head of the junta asks members of the government to have planning so that they can both optimize their travel and distribute who is going to which event and allow the Prime Minister not to be systematically asked to be present at all events.

“So he asked for better organization of the schedules of these events at which the ministers are chosen because otherwise it leaves a lot of void when you have to participate in all the activities of your colleagues. It takes a lot of working time and therefore requires better organization of this and always having in mind that it is the taxpayer’s money that we use in all the activities that we do,” reports the government spokesperson.
