The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continue their trip to the Caribbean and no one has overlooked the fact that the couple has considerably relaxed their habit of following protocol to the letter. On their first day in Jamaica, without going any further, they have posed for a selfie with the national bobsleigh team, something that the royals are strictly prohibited from doing.

They themselves have joked regarding how rare it is that they access this type of request by sharing the image on their Instagram account with the message: “A selfie for the archive”. But this has not been the only rule that they have broken during their current trip.

With the exception of Enrique and Meghan, who never skimp on gestures of complicity and affection in public, the rest of the members of the British royal family follow the example of Queen Elizabeth II, who does not look favorably on displays of affection in public. However, this Monday Guillermo and Catalina put aside that custom during a dinner in Belize.

The duchess had put on high heels for the occasion and was having a harder time walking down the stone stairs than usual, so she subtly gestured for her husband to shake her hand. Guillermo, of course, did it automatically and they walked the rest of the way like that, something they have rarely been seen doing while fulfilling their institutional commitments.
