Guillaume Canet confides in his cannabis use and the worsening of his TOCS

After the release of his latest film, Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Empire, the famous French actor and director Guillaume Canet revealed in a Youtube video that he had taken drugs and testified to the impact it had on his TOCS. He explains having suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder in the past and that when he consumed cannabisthe latter aggravated.

However, a study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders showed that people with TOCS felt a decrease in the severity of their symptoms following consuming cannabis. However, this effect only works on court termesince OCDs usually result from other causes, such as high anxiety. 60 % of the patients studied said that cannabis use had reduces their compulsions et 52 % had declared feel less anxious following consumption (source 2).
