The Vault of Zskera is a major activity in Forbidden Reaches and patch 10.0.07. The building, buried in the mountain, is an area where you will spend some time discovering what is hidden behind the 29 doors accessible from the central room. You will find many rewards there, including the Ringlet of Onyx, a ring that can go up to level 424.

1. Access to Zskera Vaults

The entrance to the Zskera Vaults is located near the village of Morqut, west of the Forbidden Reaches. You will be quickly invited to go there and an icon on the map allows you to locate the entrance. To enter the premises, talk to Jeb and tell him you want to go through the door.

There are several quests that require looting items, freeing Drachtyrs, etc. Quests are taken either outside or in the main room of the vaults because two NPCs are constantly inside. Do not hesitate to come back from time to time if the NPCs have missions for you.

2. Vault doors and keys

Upon entering the vaults, you will see two flights of stairs. You just have to go down them to reach the main, circular room. You will see 5 magically sealed doors around you. If you look up, you will see the presence of 8 doors for the three upper floors, which makes 29 doors in total.

Each door is magically closed. To open them, you need a key to the Zskera Vaults. Guide Jeb gives you several when you arrive, which allows you to open all the doors on the ground floor and an additional door. For the rest, you will have to farm the Forbidden borders in search of other keys.

2.1. Where can I find Zskera Vault Keys?

• Rare monsters: The monsters are strong but can drop a key. The area is small and the rare elites are numerous, they will be farmed and you will easily find players to help you.
• Prohibited provisions : These are chests that appear here and there in the confines. They are quite rare but may contain keys.
• bag of oddities (more info): In exchange for 1000 Elemental Overflows, Inventorist Daela will give you a bag containing one to three keys.
• normal monsters : All monsters have a chance to drop a key. The drop rate is necessarily quite low.
• Storm Trial (more info): The chest can contain at least one key.
• Quests : Some quests allow you to obtain keys. There is one that asks you to bring three keys and rewards you with… 6 keys ^^

2.2. Awards

Behind a door is a small room that can contain an enemy to kill, chests to loot, objects to recover, objects that launch a quest and quite fun activities. For example, I came across a mechanical gnome who offered me gifts.

The Vaults of Zskera offer you the possibility of recovering a ring named Annelet d’onyx. It has an item level of 405. It has three slots for primordial stones. These stones are quite easily found in vault chests. By inserting the stones, you can get different bonuses like extra damage or healing.

The stones can be of a higher level than the ring itself, which ultimately allowsincrease the ilvl of the latter up to 424. It will be possible to break the stones and collect fragments, which will be used as currency to buy other more powerful stones. You can also find fragments in vaults.

In addition to the ring, you can find many rewards:

• Mossy Mammoth Mount
  • You must find different objects that you will combine two by two. This is done in 5 steps, each time with two components to assemble. It’s totally random, so there are no other miracles than farming the vaults and advancing gradually.

Access to the rooms on floors 2, 3 and 4 is with a Bubble Elevator that you can activate by finding a specific object that you will find in the vaults. Once opened, the rooms remain accessible and offer nothing new until the weekly reset. The vaults will indeed evolve each week by changing theme.

3. Vault Themes: Az, Ur, Ix, Kx, Goblin, Naga

Vaults in Zskera evolve over time. The architecture remains the same, but the theme brings some changes to the level of monsters present in the building. This is particularly visible in the main room where there are elite monsters and different objects each week.

The vaults theoretically start with the Az version, then move to Ur, Ix, Kx, Goblin and Naga. The theme changes on Wednesday during the weekly reset. We will still have to wait for the release of patch 10.0.7 to find out exactly how Blizzard intends to proceed on this subject.

Be careful, whatever the phase, some parts are always in the same place. Thus, on the ground floor, the library is always the first door on the left. On the second level, the first door on the left is still a room filled with gold with a guardian.
