Guelmim: launch of several development projects on the occasion of Independence Day

Guelmim – Several development projects were launched on Friday in Guelmim, as part of the celebration of the 67th anniversary of Independence Day.

Thus, the Wali of the region of Guelmim Oued-Noun, governor of the province of Guelmim, Mohamed Najem Abhai, accompanied by the President of the Regional Council, Mbarka Bouaida, elected officials, heads of external services and civil and military personalities , launched the construction works of the premises of the general secretariat of regional affairs within the wilaya of Guelmim Oued-Noun.

With a total cost of nearly 10.5 million dirhams (MDH), this project will be carried out on an area of ​​3,241 square meters, including 2,192 square meters covered.

The Wali and the delegation accompanying him then handed over the keys of four vehicles acquired for 3.9 MDH for the benefit of associations active in the social field.

This operation is part of Program II of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) relating to support for people in precarious situations. It aims to improve the care of people with disabilities and patients suffering from kidney failure, and to facilitate access to treatment and care centres.

At the headquarters of the Regional Council of Guelmim Oued-Noun, Mr. Abhai supervised the delivery of honorary loan checks to 15 young project leaders at the regional level, the first installment of a total of approximately 80 checks worth 18 MDH, financed by the Regional Council.

This operation is part of the implementation of the agreement on the promotion of employment and businesses in the region, signed by the Wilaya of the region, the Regional Council, the National Agency for the Promotion of employment and skills in Guelmim, and the Moubadara Guelmim Oued-Noun association.

At the regional hospital, the Wali launched the construction works of a reference center for reproductive health in Guelmim for a cost of 7 MDH on an area of ​​2,817 square meters, including 500 square meters covered.

Construction work was also launched on the Lalla Amina Center for the care of children in difficult circumstances in Guelmim, under the Moroccan League for Child Protection.

This project, which has been allocated total funding of more than 11 MDH, including 7.9 MDH from the INDH, and nearly 3.21 MDH from the Moroccan League for Child Protection, aims to strengthen provision of care for children in difficult circumstances.

In a statement to M24, MAP’s continuous news channel, the central coordinator of the Moroccan League for the Protection of Children, Brahim Yassine, indicated that this center will welcome both children without families and children in difficult situation, noting the goal is to welcome these children and try to find them foster families within the framework of Kafala.
