Guayaquil begins to compete against the greats of South America with the launch of the album ‘Promenadia Ecuatoriana’, which can now be heard through the most popular music streaming platforms: Deezer, Itunes Store, Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music and Youtube Music .
The Guayaquil Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra is the first to record the musical works of maestro Gerardo Guevara, under the Universal Music music label, in the Latin American academic music category.
But this achievement does not come alone, the next goal is to achieve a nomination for the Grammy Awards.
“With a recording released on platforms worldwide, by a record label of the stature of Universal, we can compete in the Latin Grammy Awards,” said Jorge Saade, representing the General Directorate of Philharmonic and Municipal Artistic Education.
The 65 members of the orchestra were recorded at the Guayaquil Art Center Theater with 35 high-definition microphones, using hundreds of meters of cable and the best equipment available for this challenge.
Leonaar De Graeve, music producer, was responsible for editing the album that puts Ecuador in the big leagues of music. “One can technically correct many things, but one cannot put human emotion into it,” the artist concluded.
The collection includes 13 musical pieces including the famous Apamuy Shungo; the Ecuadorian Suite: Albazo, Lamento and Sanjuanito, Nocturne and finally the rustic Sanjuanito.
“Thank you Guayaquil, thank you Ecuadorians,” those were the words of maestro Gerardo Guevara, who turned 94 years old on September 23.
Mayor Aquiles Alvarez shares this success with all citizens and reiterates his commitment to promoting art and culture, to rebuild the social fabric to turn Guayaquil into a City for All.
