Guayacitano drowned after the flood of a river in Táchira

According to Civil Protection, 26 people bathed in the La Molina creek; from one moment to another it grew and 10 boys are missing.

Víctor Ramírez, a young Guayacitano, died this Friday, while trying to save other people who were bathing in a river located in the Lobatera municipality of Táchira state.

Ramírez was studying at the Ucab Guayana and according to information from Civil Protection of that entity, he was with 32 other people -several from Ciudad Guayana- at a retreat for young people of the Christian religion, in a place called Pasture of Las Casas.

Friends of the victim say that he saved at least three people before being swept away by the water.

It was learned that this Friday 26 young people bathed in said creek, but “from one moment to another” it grew. Product of the heavy rainfall that occurred in the area.

Some were able to leave and reach the camp where they were in the middle of a spiritual retreat and were treated for hypothermia.

Civil Protection continues with the search work because 10 boys are missing.
