Guatemalan Marvin Sandoval is recognized among the best in Concacaf Futsal

Marvin Sandoval’s performance with the Guatemalan futsal team that participated in the Nicaragua World Cup was recognized by Concacaf since He was included in the ideal team of the tournament that took place from April 13 to 20 at the Alexis Argüello Sports Center in Managua.
Sandoval was one of the fundamental pieces of the national team that achieved its sixth qualification for a Futsal World Cup and the bronze medal in the Pre-World Cup since it was the top scorer of the blue and white and was also the best scorer of the competition with seven points.
The latter earned him part of the ideal quintet of the tournament which was completely dominated by Panamanian players, who finished as champions.
The best team in the World Cup according to Concacaf is made up of: Jaime Peñazola, Alfonso Maquensi and Abdiel Ortiz from Panama, the Cuban Jonathan Hernández and Guatemalan Marvin Sandoval.
Uzbekistan 2024 will be Guatemala’s sixth participation in a Futsal World Cup following the editions of Guatemala 2000, Brazil 2008, Thailand 2012, Colombia 2016 and Lithuania 2021.
The World Cup in Uzbekistan will be played between September 14 to October 6 being the fourth edition of the tournament to be held in Asia.
There will be a total of 24 teams that qualify and fight to dethrone Portugal, the current champion that defeated Argentina 2-1 in the Lithuania 2021 edition.
Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Spain, France, Guatemala, Iran, Kazakhstan, Libya, Morocco, New Zealand, Netherlands, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Thailand, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Venezuela are the classified teams.
