There are many Guatemalans who stand out internationally thanks to their talent, passion and perseverance. This is the case of Alejandro Griffin-Diazwho was selected to compete in the London Coffee Masters.
This is a demanding competition of baristas which will be held in London Coffee Festival during the last week of April.

Alejandro will represent Guatemala in this high performance competition in which baristas from the Czech Republic, Romania, Mexico, Italia, United KingdomGreece, Latvia, Thailand, spain y Japan. What a chili!
The 16 selected compete to obtain the title of Coffee Master and for this they must overcome a series of challenges in which they will demonstrate their skills and knowledge regarding the café and the preparation of specialty drinks.
Some of the disciplines that will be evaluated are Latte Artblind tasting, preparation of drinks, preparation of author drink and determination of the origin of the coffee.
The competition will be held from April 20 to 23 during the The London Coffee Festivalan annual event celebrating London’s specialty coffee with pairing sessions, a variety of specialty drinks on display and much more.
Coffee Champagne, the signature drink of Alejandro Griffin-Diaz
Coffee Champagne is the name of the drink that Alejandro must prepare during the competition and also with which he applied for it.
The drink is inspired by the London’s Gherkin Building, since this year’s theme is the landscapes of that city.
Alejandro celebrates the participation of a Guatemalan in the competition with this drink that fuses coffee husks with champagne.
