Guardiola: We support Zinchenko in his tragedy in Ukraine

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola stressed his support for Oleksandr Zinchenko following the recent political crisis in Russia and Ukraine.

Zinchenko had gone out to the media and attacked the Russian authorities, and stressed that his country, Ukraine, would remain free and he would defend it forever.

Now Zinchenko is preparing for an important Manchester City match once morest Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Commenting on this, Guardiola told the media, “What would we feel if the country in which we were born and where we have friends, innocents are being killed in it.”

He added, “Very concerned, I think that’s what you will really feel, of course the club is close to him unconditionally.”

“Of course he has our support, this is normal. We are people who live together every day and are aware of what is happening to his country and his family.”

He continued, “We spoke with him and Fernando, he has a full squad there, we are not living outside this year and these are major things unfortunately, we are concerned.”

“Zinchenko is an unbelievably strong man, it’s very difficult, but he has performed in the last trainings in a very special way.”

It should be noted that Zinchenko played 15 games with City in various tournaments this season, and was content with providing two goals.
